M Aunt (or was it my mother)had a black coat of thin delicate sheep skin, very fine tight curls and exotic looking. It was along time ago, but I always remember it being called an Astrakhan coat.
I came to Astrakhan looking for one, or maybe a hat of this exquisite material. No luck.
But I have found out that this skin was from the slinkees skins as we in NZ call the premature dead lambs.
We move on again today skirting a safe distance above the top of Georgia area troubles, it is 40 degrees and very humid and we have a few hot days to get to the Crimea, part of Ukraine.
