Station art is at least a days entertainment in Moscow—— for just a few rubles you can travel the Metro stations and puruse the wonderfulmarble works, intricate mosaics, light fittings to diefor and get a lesson in Russian history at the same time.
Don’t worry about getting lost aswhen you havehad enough there is always a helping hand to direct you to your home station. It isn’t an easy system as many of the stations have several names,yes a confusing system initially of a different station name for each of the lines going through.
Also there is the added complication of no English and the Cyrillic alphabet. It is wonderful to find some free entertainment in such a notoriously expensive city.
