We boarded a floating platform for what could have been 3 hours of nothing much and had our socks shocked off by the sights and smells.
Huge herds of elephants swum the river a few meters from us, crocs snapped and the hippos wallowed and made noises a nice girl hasn’t heard before.
The highlight was a bull elephant waiting for a timid young one and helping him across the river by holding out his tail and the young one wrapping his trunk around it and getting a pull along.
The young one sauntered off after as if he was as brave as any of them and wallowed in mud and dusted himself in sand before taking off on his own again. Wish they could talk.
