Logan Brown and The White House eat your heart out.
You enter Africa with the mindset of hardship and think that you will never see another gourmet meal again. Namibia has turned out to be one of the world’s great secrets when it comes to fine dinning at a very affordable price. Tonight in Windhoek we dinned at a restaurant called NICE (Namibia Institute of Culinary Education) Africa is spoilt with game which makes the dinning even more pleasant for us carnivores, (vego’s not so good) NICE has built it’s menu around the various options of game which includes Kudu, Oryx, Springbok and many others. Tonight being our return visit to this restaurant we fell back to the old favourite Beef Fillet. This was served with scalloped potatoes, carrots and broccoli. The steak was at least a 300 gram excellent cut of beef fillet that surpassed any fillet meal that I can recall in good old Wellington. Washed down with a great Stellingbosh Shiraz from Cape Town and all for the price of around $30NZD.
