God Bless you, hunny.

As we have met more Americans of all types I have to say that I’m blown away by the care and hospitality. They will put an arm around you and wish you well, offer you a room for the night and help in any way.

In the “Old Slave Market” in St Augustine I talked to an African-American lady about the on-going racial stresses, children and grand-children. She spoke openly of the subtle undercurrents and resentments that are ususally hard to find out about as a visitor. As I left it was time for a big bear hug that almost smothered me in that generous bosom and her words “God bless you, hunny” hung in my mind for ages.

It’s the people that you meet that make a trip memorable.

All well

Love Jojo
