Davy Crockett

One of the boys was meant to write about this day when they put on possom or coon hats and romped around the land that Davy lived on and the house he was born in. The “Davy Crockett” song was sung and we marvelled at how much this boy who was “born on a mountaintop in Tennessee” had done with his 50 years before he was killed at the Alamo in 1836. A wonderful state park and camping ground is alongside the junction of the Limestone Creek and the Nolichucky River. You can imagine the indians and cowboys stalking eachother as they fight over rights for this lush land.
