Gringos Across the Amazon
June - August 2011

Back riding in Latin America — or third foray to the continent This time the plan is to start in Mexico, do the Yucatan Peninsula and the magic of the Maya before heading into
Belize and then Guatemala, commencing the trek down to the barrier of Darien's Gap. Exploring El Salvador, Nicaragua, Cost Rica and Panama en route should give us a
good taste of Central America's unique landscapes and peoples before we freight the bikes to Columbia and begin our trek across the top of South America. From Columbia
we move into Venezuela, and then deeply into the Amazon territories of Brazil, French Guyana, Suriname and Guiana - part road, part jungle and part river and sea crossings
- should ensure a bike trek like no other we've yet done.
